“The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap…the nations shall rush like the rushing of many waters; but God shall rebuke them and they shall flee far off…and behold at eveningtide trouble; and before the morning he is not. This is the portion of them that spoil us, and the lot of them that rob us”

(Isaiah 17:1, 13-14).

Even though this is a harsh prophecy given for the capital of Syria to the prophet Isaiah, God is the rock of Israel‘s strength! Even if armies thunder down upon this special nation, God will silence them. Their terror may come in the night but before the morning hours, her enemies are defeated. NO ONE desires to even think why Damascus is severely punished; however, with the latest news in our headlines in The Times of Israel on December 11 and December 24th, the reports that we are monitoring suggest that it is a dangerous time for Israel and we need the mighty warriors of faith through prayer in the Christian friends of Israel world around the globe to mobilize in numbers to intercede for Israel at this time. It is reported “Rebel forces in Syria claimed that regime forces used chemical weapons in an attack on Homs, Sunday, killing six people and injuring dozens more with poison gas…10 people suffered serious injuries…including blindness and paralysis…” (The Times of Israel, Monday, December 24, 2012).

Of course this has raised concerns in the international community as well as here in Israel. Syria has a large cache of chemical weapons that could be used against the rebels. Israel is watching the situation closely amid growing concern over the Syrian nerve gas. “The IDF has acquired tens of thousands of doses of a drug used to combat nerve agent chemical poisoning and will distribute to all medics with atropine, a drug that counters attacks on the respiratory system…” (The Times of Israel, December 11, 2012). This was distributed only to rear echelon battalion medical centers. While the government is teetering in Syria, Israel has prepared. Even though doubt has been expressed that Assad would use the weapons against Israel and that no sign has appeared that it is a threat at the moment, Moshe Ayalon, Minister of Strategic Affairs and former IDF Chief of Staff, told Army Radio recently that “Syria has been armed for the last decades with chemical missiles and weapons, but our deterrent factor is stable and the proof is that they haven’t used them against us yet.” IDF medics were to begin receiving training on how and when to administer the new drug as part of their intensive 13 week combat medic course.

On December 8th The Times reported that two grim scenarios were likely if chemical weapons were unleashed – both carrying risks of civilian massacre and a major escalation of violence. News was confirmed by The Associated Press (in the Times article) reported that an unknown number of weapons in Syria which were recently loaded with the nerve agent sarin brought the West’s fears into sharp relief. Stockpiles of mustard gas and a range of nerve agents, could suffocate its victims by paralyzing muscles around the lungs and the central nervous system. The precise dimensions of Syria’s chemical weapons arsenal are not known, but Syria has been accumulating them for over 40 years since Assad’s father, President Hafez Assad, began stockpiling them.

This Emergency Alert should be forwarded all over the world for one reason: to raise up and mobilize Prayer Groups for Israel among her Christian friends around the globe to cover the nation of Israel should something ever happen. We stand with Israel and want to see her protected and kept safe. All should pray for the salvation of all deceived souls in the Arab world who follow militant Islam and believe that they have a mandate to wipe Israel “off the map” of civilization. We remind the world that the GOD OF ISRAEL IS MIGHTY! He will defend His Name! He will defend His People! For in the end, ALL GLORY must go to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob…His People must turn to HIM for safety and protection, all believers must trust in HIM to carry out His Word and we must act as a shield of prayer around this nation, for this is our duty and the debt we owe to the Jewish people. It is not a matter of taking sides…it is a matter of making the right decision to stand on the side of the Lord, to flow with His Promises in His Word (the Holy Scriptures) to carry out His Will for the nation of Israel and the nations (which one can easily see in God’s Word), and to be found faithful, watching and praying during any coming storms Israel will have to endure. PRAYER POINTS FOR INTERCESSORS

* Pray that Israel will lift up her eyes unto the LORD, from where her help will come immediately if she turns to Him. (Psalm 121:1).

* Intercede for supernatural and Divine wisdom from upon High to know what to do at the right and precise time. (Psalm 121:5).

* Pray fervently that Scud missiles and artillery shells and short-range rockets will not be fired into populated areas if would happen.

* Pray that groups with terrorist ties who are aiding the rebels will not acquire weapons of mass destruction.

* Beseech God that Israel would have allies who would stand with her and not turn their heads and walk away.

* Thank God that He stands with His People and has covenanted with her to never fall asleep, but will continue to keep her forever. (Psalm 121:4).

* Intercede for God to rise and show His Salvation and His Righteousness in the sight of all heathen nations. (Psalm 98:2).

* Let our cries come before God, our supplications before Him, our lips to utter His Praise and our tongues to speak of His Word. (Psalm 119:169-172).

* Pray fervently for the salvation and revealing of the Messiah, Yeshua, to those who mock or shun His Name.

* Intercede for the redemption of Israel as prophesied in God’s Word. (Zechariah 12:8-13:2).

“Thus saith the Lord, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; the Lord of Hosts is His Name: If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the Lord, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me forever…If heaven above can be measured…I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the Lord” (Jeremiah 31:35-37).
