I was saddened to hear today that Iraqi President Jalal Talabani is quite ill — and possibly in a coma — after apparently suffering from a stroke. Please pray for this Kurdish leader to fully recover and for the LordJesus Christ to draw him to His heart. Please also pray for his family that the Father would comfort them at this time. Talabani, once a Kurdish guerilla, has emerged as one of the more impressive peaceful and pro-democracy Reformers in Iraq. I profiled him in my 2009 non-fiction book, Inside The Revolution, interviewing several of his top advisors in Iraq, and also interviewing his son Qubad, who represents the Kurdish people here in Washington, D.C.
“Talabani is said to be in a coma in hospital after officials and media reported he had suffered a stroke,” reports the BBC. “A statement on his website said President Talabani was in a stable condition and was being treated for blocked arteries. Well-placed Kurdish sources say he remains in a coma. A veteran of the Kurdish guerrilla movement, Mr Talabani, 79, is Iraq’s first president from the ethnic group. He has struggled with his health in recent years and has often been treated abroad.”
There are mixed reports about the status of his health. One Twitter report I’ve seen that was re-tweeted by Qubad says the President is in stable condition and improving. Developing….

Will do… with sincerity and humble regard.
A Muslim could hold a knife to my throat and I would pray for them until I had not another breath left in my body with which to pray!
That is because you have in your heart a quality that is the epitome of Christian goodness… and that quality is genuine forgiveness together with a lack of malice… qualities that I might add are very hard to come by… and even harder to hold on to.
Thanks for sharing!! Makes one prayerful, but also thoughtful about his condition, since oftentimes not everything is as it seems.
Amen! God bless you!!!!!
Thanks Lyn! Keep speaking out. The end is upon us and much reward is to be earned by the faithful!
It sure is! Thanks so much for the encouragement..we all need encouragement! God bless u!
You’re right! Encouragement is such a blessed ministry. Rejoice the LORD is KING! Satan is a deposed prince who usurps our LORD and CHRIST’s throne on this earth while He is away building us mansions. The KING will return and He will deal with the usurper.
How I long for that day! Praise to our heavenly Father it is very close! Though a dreadful day of suffering for many, how blessed we are to be the chosen generation who will see our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, coming in the clouds.
As brothers in Africa say “GOD is always good, always good”.
Amen!
