I feel a tremendous sorrow, a deep sadness for these families that have lost a child. Not only they, but the families that lost an adult member of the family. These adults were six women. One woman’s boyfriend was going to ask her to marry him on Christmas. Another had five daughters. Another left behind her husband and children. All with a passion for children and teaching.
All of these families need our prayers, the road to recovery for these children that are now going back to school is going to be a long one. Families will have to face the wondering thoughts of, “are my children safe?” and the kids themselves will be thinking those same thoughts.
The Lord has placed it on my heart to keep these people in prayer I think, I hope you who read this will join me in keeping these children and their families lifted up in prayer.
These kids will be facing uncertainty and fear for sure. To return to the school setting where just a short time ago their classmates lost their lives will be difficult for them. The so called adjustment period back to a somewhat normal life will be a long one. Parents of those going back, and especially those parents who lost a child will be facing a difficult transition in their lives that is not going away anytime soon.
Let us call out to the Lord for the affected families in Newtown Connecticut.
